Slacker Rock Band Station: RBN has taken over
Author: MyGGGo; Filed under: Game, Geverything Gelse; Tagged as: Music, PlayStation 3, Rock Band, Slacker Radio, Wii, Xbox 360No Comments
Last week, we updated our Slacker Radio Rock Band radio station with the recent DLC plus upcoming DLC. We even started moving into the realm of Rock Band Network (RBN). Today, we have taken it a bit further. Realize that many RBN artists are unsigned, and not well known on the internet radio world, but surprisingly,I am able to find quite a few RBN tracks.I have only sifted through the announced list of RBN tracks from last Wednesday, and only up to the letter “J” “T”. The good news, 16 31 songs so far from RBN are available on Slacker…and I have added them to the station for your listening pleasure. The updated RBN list is at the bottom.
Remember, Slacker can be enjoyed from your favorite web browser, as long as you have Flash installed (and I’m 101% sure you do). Plus, Slacker for iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm WebOS, and Android all exist. If you haven’t tried Slacker on your phone, just go to www.slacker.com to download the free app.

We haven’t put up a post on Rock Band DLC in a week or two. Hey, it’s the holidays…cut us some slack. So, as a roll up and a special bonus to you, I’ve updated our Slacker Rock Band radio station, with every itsy bitsy morsel of DLC goodness, including next weeks songs (even included the 1 confirmed song for Green Day Rock Band…American Idiot).
In this update you will get all from the December 8 DLC release, of Slipknot and Simon & Garfunkel. The Lights Resolve track isn’t yet in Slacker, but I have “hearted” the band, so hopefully it will make an appearance.
You’ll also get to treat your ears to the December 15 DLC, including more Green Day, 30 Seconds To Mars, and AAR. Oh, and that small Beatles album DLC of Rubber Soul too.
Plus everything else through next week, including: more Paul McCartney, Blink, Psychedelic Furs, and Ramones.

The browser based version of Slacker Radio has been updated, with some great features. I haven’t seen the release notes, but have noticed my own list of improvements:
- Improved Searching. More of just a UI update, that breaks out searching into bands and songs.
- Twitter integration. Allowing auto-tweets when you start a station, add a song as a favorite, ban a song, or ban an artist.
- This is a very cool feature for me, the Twitter and Slacker nerd that I am.
- Sharing feature has updates (including the above mentioned Twitter integration). URL shortener for Tweeting or Facebooking, 2-click emailing stations, and a new Embed feature (see the embedded Rock Band station below).
- Embed is pretty awesome, as this now allows you to embed a fully functional station within a web page, as I will regularly do now here at www.MyGGGo.com).
Small Embedded Slacker Player – with my custom Rock Band station.
Wicked Big Embedded Slacker Player – with my custom Rock Band station.

Slacker Radio for BlackBerry: Update
Author: Shawn; Filed under: Gadget; Tagged as: Blackberry, BlackBerry Bold, BlackBerry Storm, Slacker RadioNo Comments
Hey BlackBerry users, and music lovers, our favorite internet radio application has been updated. After a quick check this morning of the BlackBerry App World, I see that I’m offered an upgrade from v2.0.45 to v2.0.49.0.
In this update we get the following:

All the details in the release notes look warranted to me. As a heavy user of Slacker on both my desktop and BlackBerry, I’m looking forward to testing out this new version. If you are new to Slacker, you can point your BlackBerry web browser to www.slacker.com to get the application, or you can use App World on your BlackBerry to get it, or you can go send it to your ‘berry from the App World site on your desk top. To play Slacker from your desktop web browser, just go to www.slacker.com in your browser of choice to get the complete awesomeness of Slacker.
Slacker is available on all BlackBerry models. I use it on both the Bold and Storm. Works great on both, and looks incredible on the Storm. Slacker also offers a full-featured application for iPhone and iPod Touch too.
