    Lego: Rock Band

Wired has a report that the songs included on the RB:Lego disc will be accessible to RB:2, via export.  No further details as to whether it will be a download (like RB:AC/DC) or a feature included on the disc, nor is there any mention of a fee.

Here are the new songs rumored to be included with Lego: Rock Band.

    • David Bowie – Let’s Dance
    • Elton John – Crocodile Rock
    • Iggy Pop – The Passenger
    • The Police – Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
    • Queen – We Are the Champions
    • Queen – We Will Rock You
    • T. Rex – Ride a White Swan

Add those to the already announced tracks:

    • Blur – Song 2
    • Carl Douglas – Kung Fu Fighting
    • Europe – The Final Countdown
    • Jackson 5 – I Want You Back
    • Good Charlotte – Boys and Girls
    • Pink – So What
    • Foo Fighters – Breakout
    • Vampire Weekend – A-Punk
    • Bon Jovi – You Give Love a Bad Name
    • Sum 41 – In Too Deep
    • The Counting Crows – Accidentally in Love
    • Blink 182 – Aliens Exist
    • The Hives – Tick Tick Boom

Lego: Rock Band has a street date of Sunday, November 8, 2009.

In that same article, they also mention new track packs from Queen, The Raconteurs, and the White Stripes.

    • Queen – Under Pressure (+9 more in October)
    • The Raconteurs – Steady as She Goes (+2 more in October)
    • The White Stripes – Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground
    • The White Stripes – Icky Thump
    • The White Stripes – Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine
Since the source is Wired I’m willing to bet this is genuine.
For those keeping count that is 12 Queen tracks this fall.  There will be a lot of Jack White as well, 9 songs if you include the Dead Weather’s 3 tracks, which will make his fans quite happy.  “Dead Leaves” was the first White Stripes song I ever heard, one of their greatest hard rock songs.  I’m most excited about playing  Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger”, as this song has many fond memories for me – 1977′s Lust for Life would make a great full album DLC.

    Rock Band DLC Rumors

Filed under: Game; Tagged as: ,

I’ve got word on a slew of possible DLC news for Rock Band next week. I’m going to throw it out here (thanks to the RockBand.com forums for supplying the rumor mill). Remember, none of this is confirmation, it’s pure speculation based on talks around the Interwebs.

Snoop Doggs greatest hits pack – Confirmed by HMX, but when will it come out? We anticipate just as Snoop starts his tour, which begins in June.

Grateful dead pack – Confirmed by HMX. They licensed 18 from them and we’ve gotten 13 already. Here’s what’s left to release:
    Grateful Dead – “Scarlet Begonias”
Grateful Dead – “The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion)”
    Grateful Dead – “Throwing Stones”
Grateful Dead – “Touch of Grey”
    Grateful Dead – “U.S. Blues”

B-52′s – Confirmed by HMX in onsite interview. Don’t know what or when.

Limp Bizkit – Rumored by Fred Durst on his Twitter, I’ve got a Tweet in to confirm. This would make sense since LB has a new long delayed album (with original members) due out soon.

Random songs on a ‘leaked list’ – There were originally 80 songs on this list, all but these have since been released:
Allman Brothers Band – “Whipping Post”
    Bon Jovi – “Bad Medicine”
The Cure – “Just Like Heaven”
Fall Out Boy – “Dance, Dance”
Foo Fighters – “I’ll Stick Around”
    Oasis - “Supersonic”
Pixies - “Where Is My Mind?”
Ramones - “Rock N Roll High School”
    R.E.M. – “These Days”
    R.E.M. – “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?”
Taking Back Sunday – “What It Feels Like To Be A Ghost”
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – “Gold Lion”
Rolling Stones – “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
    Rolling Stones – “Brown Sugar”
Nirvana - “Come As You Are”
    Nirvana – “Lithium”
Nirvana – “Smells Like Teen Spirit”
    Indochine - “L’Aventurier”
    Metallica - “King Nothing”

Shaimus - “All of This” – Confirmed on the bands blog, not by HMX
    Shaimus – “Tie You Down”

thenewno2 - You Are Here(Album) – Confirmed by band on myspace page
    “So Vain”
    “Another John Doe”
    “Back To You”
    “Bluesy”
    “Give You Love”
    “Hiding Out”
    “Idle Lover”
    “Shelter”
    “Wind Up Dead”

Disturbed - Indestructible (Album) – David Draiman talks about this on RB special
    “Deceiver”
    “The Night”
    “Haunted”
    “Enough”
    “The Curse”
    “Torn”
    “Criminal”
    “Divide”
    “Facade”

These four songs were found on a copyright website saying that they have been released to the RB franchise:
    Flyleaf - “All Around Me”
    Flyleaf – “Fully Alive”
    Eve 6 – “Inside Out”
Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod

Ghostbusters Theme – Confirmed to be in the works by Ray Parker Jr. Makes sense since the video game is coming out soon, with lots of hype around it.

The Replacements, The Who – HMX mentioned in an interview that more was on the way.

Cake - The Distance – Email from the band stating RB tracks in the works.

2nd metal pack confirmed by HMX to OXM early early last year(seeing as how two of these were covers, most likely never seeing the light of day)
    Metallica – “Fuel”
    Iron Maiden – “Wrathchild”
    Black Sabbath – “Supernaut”
    The Haunted – “Shadow World”

The Doors – Email exchange by Doors management that tracks were coming to RB

Skunk Anansie – “Brazen – Confirmed by Band in radio interview.

Pennywise - Confirmed by Band in magazine article

The Clash – Lost in the Supermarket – IGN interview

Sublime - email from band stating they have tracks in the works

Def Leppard – Console Hero interview

Anvil - Confirmed by Band on Myspace

Do you know more, or do you want to weigh in on the rumors? What are you waiting for?

Thursday, at CES, Palm will unveil something new.  From the rumormill, we hear it will be their next mobile operating system (code named: Nova) and new hardware, think Treo with a vertical sliding keyboard.  This will all happen about 24 hours from when I type this.

As a longtime Palm fanboy, who recently transitioned to BlackBerry devices, I am hoping for the best.  Though looking back on the five years I used Palm (and PalmOne) devices, and what they had released over the years, I’m skeptical that they will blow our socks off.  I really hope they do, but am worried.

The Treo 650 was groundbreaking (though not the first) in 2004 combining the ease-of-use of the Palm OS, the large development community, and mobile phones. The Treo 700p brought 3G speeds to the same device, but introduced so many problems that many users jumped ship.  The subsequent Treo 680 and 755p were too bulky compared to other devices on the market.  The 680 and 755p were also running the same OS that the Treo 650 and the Treo 600 from 2003 were running.  Although good, it was stale.

Then the Foleo flop of 2007.  It was a sad day when I received a spam email from Ed Colligan (Palm CEO) stating that the “mobile companion” Foleo was scrapped just days before launch.  If marketed correctly, could have been a smash hit with the netbook (small notebook/laptop) market.  But, we’ve seen no sign of the Foleo since it’s cancellation.

So, that left the end of 2007 with the introduction of the Centro, basically a Treo in a smaller casing.  It’s sold quite well likely due to it’s reasonable pricing.  Though still running the old OS from 2003.  As for other things Palm released in 2008, two Windows Mobile devices, Treo 800w and Treo Pro.  Both quite good hardware and software.  Though, that just makes Palm one of the many Windows Mobile hardware providers, like HTC, Samsung, Motorola, and more.

But we still wait for the next generation of the Palm OS and a real successor to the Treo 650 lineup.  Thursday is the day.  That’s the day that all of us Palm fanboys hope for something that will absolutely dazzle us, both on the software and hardware.

Let’s be realistic.  With the explosion of devices in the past two years, what new will Palm be able to come up with?  Let’s look at what is already in the marketplace:
    * Capacitive touchscreens (iPhone and BlackBerry Storm)
    * High (HIGH) resolution screens (Storm, Bold, iPhone, Xperia, etc)
    * Vertical sliders…well this one has not proven successful with anyone yet.
    * Great email (BlackBerry for BES, G1 for Gmail, Windows Mobile for Exchange). So, a device that could perfectly combine all email would be good.
    * Multimedia (iPhone)
    * GPS, WiFi, 3G (just about everyone)

So Palm, dazzle us, please. I don’t know how you will, but I’m hoping you have something up your sleeve that will make millions of people jump from iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Android, Symbian, flip-phones, and the dead Palm OS to your next generation device. Make it happen.

What do you see from the picture above (which is a screen shot from last week’s PAX)?  Yes, it is Rock Band 2…but that’s not it.  Yes, it’s got some RB2 songs on it…but that’s not it.  Yes, it has this past weeks DLC on it…but that not it.

“Shoot to Thrill (Live at Doningto…”

    What, what, what?

Well, you may have noticed that there is no official announcement this week of Rock Band DLC.  Why is that?  Rumors are flying around the web and being quickly squashed that AC/DC will be making a DLC appearance possibly this coming week.

We know for sure that there have been some recent problems with DLC (i.e. Rush) and a patch for songs are missing some notes (i.e. the Xbox Rock Band update released yesterday.  Though, there is also a rumor that The Offspring DLC has also been delayed due to this glitch, and that Harmonix has been releasing lesser known songs the past few weeks (with the missed note glitch) until they “fix the glitch”.  Supposedly, they don’t want to release high profile material until the known glitch is fixed.

The glitch was just fixed for Xbox 360, so I guess we are waiting for the PS3 fix before the big names get released.

Boy, that’s a lot of info for one post.  But what’s the most important?  I don’t know.  I think it’s that AC/DC is getting a live track on RB possible as soon as next week.  What’s more interesting is that next weeks DLC is hush, hush.  No official announcements yet.

So, can you weigh in on the myriad of conspiracies that I’m ranting about today?
