Some heavy hitters in the current music scene quickly joined up with www.MusicForRelief.org to help raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. They organized an album of previously unreleased songs and are giving it away. They are requesting you donate whatever you can to the cause. It’s simple, you provide youe email address, and a link is sent to you with the album to download. Then you have to go back to the site to donate. Donations are completely optional, but might help the cause.
Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alanis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco team up with Music For Relief to aid earthquake victims.

Green Day, Eminem, Linkin Park, Dave Matthews, and more
Author: Shawn; Filed under: Geverything Gelse; Tagged as: 311, Beastie Boys, Dave Matthews Band, Dream Theater, Music1 CommentI can’t believe all the new music coming out right now. I’m going to be broke this summer.
I just realized the new Green Day album is already available, came out this week. I will be picking that up today.
Thanks to an iTunes email, I just learned Eminem is back with a new album. Not sure if I will pick that up, as I think my Eminem days are behind me. But, I’m interested to give it a listen.
Linkin Park has a new single New Divide. That I will definitely pick up.
Dream Theater, I know they are not main stream, but they have a new album coming out, and I have already pre-orderd the deluxe 3-CD edition.
Dave Matthews Band, has their first album coming out since the passing of saxophonist, LeRoi Moore. There’s a pre-order for that now, and a deluxe edition with DVD too. I’m sure I’ll pick that album up as soon as it comes out, sans the DVD.
311 is due out with a new full album in June too. I’ll be getting that on day one.Not mentioned up above, but I know Beastie Boys are finishing up an album now too. This will be the first non-instrumental album for them in about 5 years.
Oh, and Limp Bizkit started their world tour today, with the original line up. It’s the first time they have been together in 8 years. The album is due out in a few weeks, and I’m likely to get that also.
Wow, that’s an insane summer of music. Fingers crossed some of it will make an appearance on DLC for Rock Band.

I just learned the sad news from CNN.com that “LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of the Dave Matthews Band, died Tuesday from complications stemming from injuries he sustained in an ATV accident”. This is sad news for the music community, as LeRoi was a talented, respected, and friendly musician. As a huge fan of the Dave Matthews Band, I’m very sad to hear the news of LeRoi’s passing. I’ve seen the band live 5 or 6 times over the years and love listening to their music.
This is the first I knew that he had been in an accident. I’m sorry for his passing, and for the loss to his fans, family, and band members. DMB now has a hole which we haven’t seen in its 17 (or so) year history.
Here is the CNN article.
#41 live (one of my favorite DMB songs):
Say Goodbye live (arguably the best DMB song ever, with LeRoi playing beautifully on flute):
Here’s a quick video from the AP:
