Rumors, rumors, rumors. The Rock Band rumors continue to grow, and continue to come true. Let’s speculate this week (thanks to the RockBand.com forums for supplying the rumor mill). Remember, none of this is confirmation, it’s pure speculation based on talks around the Interwebs.
Green Day – A slew of Green Day songs have been spotted on some HMX QA testing material. Plus, the new Green Day album just came out. Plus, Apples (the RockBand.com forum moderator), gave us a hint today “A fair sight awaits the almighty green goblin.” Lot’s of talk about Green Day hitting this coming week.
Snoop Doggs greatest hits pack – Confirmed by HMX, but when will it come out? We anticipate just as Snoop starts his tour, which begins in June.
Grateful dead pack – Confirmed by HMX. They licensed 18 from them and we’ve gotten 13 already. Here’s what’s left to release:
Grateful Dead – “Scarlet Begonias”
Grateful Dead – “The Golden Road (To Unlimited Devotion)”
Grateful Dead – “Throwing Stones”
Grateful Dead – “Touch of Grey”
Grateful Dead – “U.S. Blues”
[ad#post-banner-ad]
B-52′s – Confirmed by HMX in onsite interview. Don’t know what or when.Limp Bizkit – Rumored by Fred Durst on his Twitter, I’ve got a Tweet in to confirm. This would make sense since LB has a new long delayed album (with original members) due out soon.
Random songs on a ‘leaked list’ – There were originally 80 songs on this list, all but these have since been released:
Allman Brothers Band – “Whipping Post”
Bon Jovi – “Bad Medicine”
The Cure – “Just Like Heaven”
Fall Out Boy – “Dance, Dance”
Foo Fighters – “I’ll Stick Around”
Oasis - “Supersonic”
Pixies - “Where Is My Mind?”
Ramones - “Rock N Roll High School”
R.E.M. – “These Days”
R.E.M. – “What’s the Frequency, Kenneth?”
Taking Back Sunday – “What It Feels Like To Be A Ghost”
Yeah Yeah Yeahs – “Gold Lion”
Rolling Stones – “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
Rolling Stones – “Brown Sugar”
Nirvana - “Come As You Are”
Nirvana – “Lithium”
Nirvana – “Smells Like Teen Spirit”
Indochine - “L’Aventurier”
Metallica - “King Nothing”Shaimus - “All of This” – Confirmed on the bands blog, not by HMX
Shaimus – “Tie You Down”thenewno2 - You Are Here(Album) – Confirmed by band on myspace page
“So Vain”
“Another John Doe”
“Back To You”
“Bluesy”
“Give You Love”
“Hiding Out”
“Idle Lover”
“Shelter”
“Wind Up Dead”Disturbed - Indestructible (Album) – David Draiman talks about this on RB special
“Deceiver”
“The Night”
“Haunted”
“Enough”
“The Curse”
“Torn”
“Criminal”
“Divide”
“Facade”These four songs were found on a copyright website saying that they have been released to the RB franchise:
Flyleaf - “All Around Me”
Flyleaf – “Fully Alive”
Eve 6 – “Inside Out”
Ministry - Jesus Built My HotrodGhostbusters Theme – Confirmed to be in the works by Ray Parker Jr. Makes sense since the video game is coming out soon, with lots of hype around it.
The Replacements, The Who – HMX mentioned in an interview that more was on the way.Cake - The Distance – Email from the band stating RB tracks in the works.
2nd metal pack confirmed by HMX to OXM early early last year(seeing as how two of these were covers, most likely never seeing the light of day)
Metallica – “Fuel”
Iron Maiden – “Wrathchild”
Black Sabbath – “Supernaut”
The Haunted – “Shadow World”The Doors – Email exchange by Doors management that tracks were coming to RB
Skunk Anansie – “Brazen – Confirmed by Band in radio interview.
Pennywise - Confirmed by Band in magazine article
The Clash – Lost in the Supermarket – IGN interview
Sublime - email from band stating they have tracks in the works
Def Leppard – Console Hero interview
Anvil - Confirmed by Band on Myspace
Do you know more, or do you want to weigh in on the rumors? What are you waiting for?

I learned today (thanks Joystiq) that a new retail release of Lips is coming out in October. What is sounds like, is similar to Rock Band selling “Track Packs” at retail. Stuff that would normally be DLC, can be bought on the store shelf. Better, Microsoft has announced that this new game “Lips: Number One Hits” will be compatible with Lips 1.
The known set list (so far):
- “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay
- “Disturbia” by Rihanna
- “U Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer
- “More Than Words” by Extreme
- “Apologize” by Timbaland featuring OneRepublic
- “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club
- “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye
- “Oh, Pretty Woman” by Roy Orbison
- “Ready, Set, Go!” by Tokio Hotel
What I’m guessing is it will use the same game engine as Lips 1, and all the music will be importable from Lips” Number One Hits into Lips 1, so no disc swapping needed.
For me and my family we like Lips 1, though we have been shy to buy any DLC for the game. At $2 a song, we generally just buy DLC for Rock Band 2. Now, I will likely buy this new Lips release at retail, since the 40+ songs that came with Lips 1 has quickly gotten old.
For me, this is good news and looking forward to the new Lips addition. You?

The Site is Moving Soon…
Filed under: Gadget; No Comments…Fellow readers of My Gadget, Game & Gizmo Obsession, I just want to give you a heads up that I’m moving the site to a new service provider. It’s the first time in 10 years that I have moved a site, and I’m 99.9% certain that it will experience some downtime…most likely a lot of downtime.
So, if you come here and see the site missing within the next week or so, don’t fret. I will be working behind the scenes to get it back up and running with my new service provider. The name will remain the same: www.MyGGGo.com, as this has become the permanent name for this place. I’m still trying to get back a lot of lost readers from the domain name switchover a few months ago.
Check back often, or just plug us into your favorite RSS feed. I’ll send a post once I get things back up on the other side.

Green Day, Eminem, Linkin Park, Dave Matthews, and more
Filed under: Geverything Gelse; Tagged as: 311, Beastie Boys, Dave Matthews Band, Dream Theater, Music1 CommentI can’t believe all the new music coming out right now. I’m going to be broke this summer.
I just realized the new Green Day album is already available, came out this week. I will be picking that up today.
Thanks to an iTunes email, I just learned Eminem is back with a new album. Not sure if I will pick that up, as I think my Eminem days are behind me. But, I’m interested to give it a listen.
Linkin Park has a new single New Divide. That I will definitely pick up.
Dream Theater, I know they are not main stream, but they have a new album coming out, and I have already pre-orderd the deluxe 3-CD edition.
Dave Matthews Band, has their first album coming out since the passing of saxophonist, LeRoi Moore. There’s a pre-order for that now, and a deluxe edition with DVD too. I’m sure I’ll pick that album up as soon as it comes out, sans the DVD.
311 is due out with a new full album in June too. I’ll be getting that on day one.Not mentioned up above, but I know Beastie Boys are finishing up an album now too. This will be the first non-instrumental album for them in about 5 years.
Oh, and Limp Bizkit started their world tour today, with the original line up. It’s the first time they have been together in 8 years. The album is due out in a few weeks, and I’m likely to get that also.
Wow, that’s an insane summer of music. Fingers crossed some of it will make an appearance on DLC for Rock Band.

UPDATE: Sprint has announced the Palm Pre will be available at Best Buy, Wal-mart, Radio Shack, and other locations on June 6.
Some of my obsessions have been at the forefront lately, typically the likes of Rock Band, Xbox 360 deals, and BlackBerry’s. Though, the obsession that started this whole site 2 and a half years ago, seems to have gone by the wayside.
I guess we can thank my employer for forcing BlackBerry on me, which got me obsessing on the Storm and then the Bold. Though, some news I learned over the weekend, is bringing me back to my roots.Palm.
I live blogged the announcement of the Palm Pre back in January, and haven’t mentioned in the blogs since. Although, I am due for a Palm Pre blog post, that’s not the main reason I’m writing.
Thanks to my friends at PreCentral.net, I learned over the weekend that another Palm device running the new webOS is in the works. It’s called the Palm Eos, and it’s looking to be the successor to the very popular Palm Centro (running the classic Palm OS). The Eos will run the new webOS, but will retain the Treo/Centro like front facing QWERTY candy-bar design. It’s also been spotted as an AT&T device. Sprint will be getting the Pre.
So, here’s what’s a killer. The Pre, announced in January without any release date…still has not been released. It’s looking like it will come out within the next 14 days, but no date has been announced.
[ad#post-banner-ad]
The Pre is a big step from the Treo and Centro, as it’s a full touchscreen, with something very different from all smartphones. It has a vertical sliding keyboard. No one knows yet if it will be a successful design, though there’s little question that the OS will be anything less than dazzling. But, is Palm shooting itself in the foot by taking such a long time to release the Pre, while allowing the Eos to get leaked? I think so. Now, the Treo and Centro lovers have a reason NOT to jump over to Sprint, since the Eos will likely be coming to AT&T. Also, Treo and Centro lovers now can wait a little while longer, and get that good ol’ front facing QWERTY they have grown to love.
For me, both are exciting, though I don’t see me getting one as my everyday device, due to work restrictions. I’m sure I will be trying both out, and writing up my feedback when I get my hands on either one.
What about you? Do we have any Palm enthusiasts left here, interested in either of these?

Ok, so I’m the farthest thing from a skater there is, but some details of the upcoming Tony Hawk game really got my attention.“Turns out the motion controls are quite detailed, and in advanced modes even allow for in-place 180s, but nothing seems to involve lifting the board actually off the ground. Grabs can be performed by actually grabbing the edge of the board, with infrared sensors picking up your hand position, and pushing is performed by running your foot along the side of the board. Ollies and flip tricks are obviously going to be a bit different than the real deal, while manuals and steering are pretty much spot on, and apparently there’s a lot of choice as to how much “realism” you’d like in controlling the thing. Tony Hawk also sees the controller as a “standard,” which could work with snowboarding games, surfing games, exercise games and other assorted cash cows for Activision.”
Some of the pictures in the Engadget post really piqued my interest. Interaction and immersion are always the key for me with video games, so if this gets pulled off well, it might be right up there with Rock Band, the Wii, and the EA sports library for me.
Thoughts? Anyone else out there, skater or not, intrigued by ‘RIDE’?
