THIS WEEK IN ROCK BAND! Lot’s of rock and some hip-hop on the horizon.

* The Fratellis, a lesser known Scottish rock group, made a triple-pack appearance this week for Xbox 360 and PS3 DLC.
I don’t know them well enough to pick up their stuff…not with so much other DLC available.  Though, I took a listen and it’s some decent alt rock, if that’s your thing.

* Axl Rose has said Chinese Democracy (the song, or the entire album) will make a Rock Band DLC appearance this Spring.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again.  I do like Chinese Democracy the album, though c’mon guys.  Give us some, any, a taste of the classics.  Anything from Appetite for Destruction, GN’R Lies, or Use Your Illusions 1 & 2.  Anything from the old days would be big sellers.  Granted, I will probably by the new stuff, but I really want the old stuff…and I know I’m not alone.

* Snoop Dogg has a new album coming, a new MTV show coming, and his classic tracks making an DLC appearance on Rock Band.
We don’t know how his stuff will play in the game, but I am excited about his classic stuff and looking forward to the growth in additional genres.

* Rush’s Moving Pictures made it onto Wii’s DLC list this week at 200 Nintendo points a track.
Way to go Wii, you are trying to hard to catch up to your bigger brothers Xbox 360 and PS3.  You are like little Michael Jackson, making way more money/fame than your older siblings, although they are a bit way more talented than you.
