  • First Official Release of DLC for Guitar Hero World Tour

Posted on October 23rd, 2008 Shawn No comments

Major Nelson hooked us up this morning with the announcement of the first pieces of DLC for GHWT.  It’s all stuff we announced before, but good to see the ‘official’ on it.  Some stuff is free, the other stuff…same pricing as Rock Band.

Yikes, same price as Rock Band DLC, and lot’s of dupes.  I’m afraid the only people who are going to buy this DLC are those that held out and never bought Rock Band or Rock Band 2.  Or (in this recessed economy) have so much money burning a hole in their pocket, that they don’t mind buying the same song for the same price, over and over and over.

See the deets below?  Are you getting GHWT this coming week?  Going to buy it, rent it, borrow it, or just pass?  We have all flavors of Guitar Hero World Tour in our store, if you want to buy a copy from us and support us.

  • Guitar Hero World Tour in Just 4 Days!

Posted on October 22nd, 2008 Shawn No comments

Did we forget that in only four days the gaming world will be turned upside down with a new revolutionary platform that includes, Guitars, Bass, Singing, and Drumming; plus lot’s of downloadable content….ALL IN ONE GAME!

I can’t wait to experience this new type of gaming, called Guitar Hero World Tour.

Oh wait, Rock Band and Rock Band 2 (and the piss-poor Rock Revolution) are already out. Umm, anyway, I do plan on plunking down $60 and picking it up at some time. How about you?

We’ve got every flavor of GHWT (Game only, full band, guitar kit, Xbox 360, PS 2&3, and Wii) in our NEW Amazon store:

  • BlackBerry Bold, on AT&T November 4

Posted on October 22nd, 2008 Shawn No comments

BoldWell, now you can FINALLY get your hands on a Bold (in the U.S.)  Since nearly every other land-based location in the world already has it, AT&T has finally given us a date of release.  November 4 it is.  Oh, and it’s $299 with a 2-year contract…holy crap, that’s expensive.

You may know that I was all for the Bold back in the Winter, Spring, and Summer…then it just took too long and I heard about the Storm coming for Verizon.  Now the Bold is old news for me, and I’m holding out for the Storm.  Good news is, the Storm is looking to ship on Verizon only 10 days after the Bold on AT&T.  Yep, the Storm is due November 14.

Looks like RIM will have a solid 3rd quarter this year.  Good thing since their stock (like everyone else’s) is currently in the crapper.

What say you?  Bold, Storm?  Something else?  Don’t care?

  • Guns N’ Roses – Chinese Democracy…we’ve got it!

Well, the link to stream the single that is.

    Check it out.

Listen to it, then come back here and comment. Love it? Hate it? So-so?

BTW, the pre-order for the CD at BestBuy.com is back up.

  • 20 FREE Songs for Rock Band 2, November 4

Well, here we go. Harmonix has announced the 20 free DLC for Rock Band 2 owners, and the release date. They will drop on November 4, for all RB2 owners to pick up via Xbox Live or PSN. There are a lot of lesser known bands, as promised by Harmonix. Though, I do recognize quite a few. I’ve tried linking all the songs to 99¢ MP3′s in our NEW Amazon store. If you plan on getting any of the MP3′s please buy through us and support our site.

Here they are with links to purchase the MP3s from our Amazon store:
The 88 – “Sons and Daughters” (Sorry, no MP3 available)
    Authority Zero – “No Regrets”
Between the Buried and Me – “Prequel To The Sequel”

  • Rhythm Games: What to play an instrument and sing?

Posted on October 22nd, 2008 Shawn No comments

I was just scanning the web for new products and noticed a USB headset and mic from Logitech.  They make lot’s of quality PC and gaming peripherals.  Well, if you are like me and want to sing while drumming (or playing guitar/bass) during a Rock Band session, then you need to get a USB headset and mic like this one.

As I just scanned though our NEW store, we have them available for less than other online stores are charging.  So, if you are like me want to sing and play at the same time, check it out.

  • Some More Nirvana Rock Band DLC Drama

Posted on October 21st, 2008 Shawn No comments

Ok, the Rock Band forums are starting to light up.  Appears that both Drain You and Smells Like Teen Spirit are listed in the Rock Band (in-game) Store on NIRVANA PACK 01.  Check the photo (click the photo for full size).

We already have Drain You, which came on the Rock Band 2 disc…and well, we have already talk about Teen Spirit missing.  Looks like a bit of a screw up here.  But, just so you know, there is NO Teen Spirit in the pack, that is confirmed by people that picked it up early today.

So, that’s what we have for you.

  • Rock Band not Releasing Nirvana’s Biggest Hits

Posted on October 21st, 2008 Shawn No comments

Well, it’s a year in the making. The rumors, stories, and myths of Nevermind actually showing up on Rock Band are over, well somewhat.

As of today, we now have all but three tracks available for DLC. “Which 3 are missing?”, you ask. Only the three big hits: Smells Like Teen Spirit, Lithium, and Come As You Are.

Here’s what we have learned, through somewhat official channels. The communications folks at Harmonix have stated the reason for the three missing tracks.

    1. Come As You Are and Lithium are going to be paired up in the near future with Heart Shaped Box (from In Utero) for a DLC 3-pack.
    2. Now, the supposed bad news. Looks like the master tracks for Smells Like Teen Spirit are “missing” (i.e. stolen, lost, or destroyed).

For the track pack, “Ok that’s cool, but really should have been released at the same time as the rest of the album”, in my opinion. For Teen Spirit, really? Do you believe this story? I like some of the theories going around, like Courtney Love has them stashed somewhere (complements of Maki), or that Harmonix is holding out for Rock Band 3.

    What say you?

In the meantime, get ready for some Nirvana bliss, with today’s DLC. Pick all 7 tracks up on Rock Band DLC today for $10.99 (880 Microsoft Points) or $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) per track. Also, support our site, and pick up the MP3′s in our store for only 99¢ a piece or $8.99 for the whole album.

  • Rock Band 2: The Stars, on VH1

Posted on October 17th, 2008 Shawn No comments

For you naysayers out there, Rock Band 2 has arrived (or should I say, sold out). VH1 has started one of (dare I say many) series dedicated to the rhythm video game genre. This clip (below) shows the stars rally came out. Check out as Sebastian Bach and Alice Cooper judge upcoming rock stars like Jewphin. WTF, why am I not on that show?

Yes, the real stars, Bach and Cooper, rock out on Rock Band 2 as well. Bach totally destroys a Rock Band guitar. Sweet.

You can buy Rock Band 2 and equipment NOW from our store:
