Rock Band 2 Drum Trainer

What are people thinking of the Drum Trainer in RB2? Have you hit any of the achievements yet?I got the two Beat Trainer achievements last night: Beat It! and The Beat Goes On. I should get the Fill Trainer accomplishments tonight.
As a drummer (outside of RB), I think the Drum Trainer is quite good for someone learning. It covers a lot of standard beats and fills. The one thing that you don’t get on the Drum Trainer, is guidance on which hand you should use for the more complicated beats. It’s important to properly alternate left-right hands on some complicated beats/fills, and would have been nice if Harmonix added that info into the trainer. Other than that, it’s a great feature.

I like it and beat both achievements for Fill Trainer, though I kind of didn’t really like a lot the fills they used. I guess I have my own style that doesn’t match up with theirs… The only fill that really gave me any trouble was Speed Bonham, that one is pretty vicious.
I’m having a lot of trouble with the disco, latin and reggaeton beats at over 100 bpm. Once I can get those down I will get the second Beat Trainer achievement. Or I could focus on the huge batch of them I have at 140 bpm and see if I can bump up 5 or 6 more to get half the beats at 180. I might be better off trying that!
As for true training? I don’t think it’s all that effective. It’s good for warming up but it doesn’t do anything that playing songs in the regular game mode doesn’t teach you anyway. This is, of course, in my humble novice drum player opinion.
