Drums on Hard….Done!
Posted on July 2nd, 2008 No comments
Ok, so after receiving some friendly taunts from “gamertag lVl a u l e r” that he finished Rock Band drums on Hard and that he only has 2 songs to go on Expert, I got enviousjealous. I fired up the Xbox 360, logged in to Xbox Live, turned on Rock Band and dug my feet into the two remaining songs on my list, “Run to the Hills” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again”.First, Run to the Hills….failed at 23%, failed at 37%, failed at 37%. Grrr!!!! But, I wouldn’t give up, tried a forth time……red lined a couple times, nearly lost it, then……finished it. Three stars, not proud, but I’ll take it.
Then, Won’t Get Fooled Again. Started, did ok, red lined, got back on top, red lined again. Then, holy crap….finished it without failing….and with four stars. Done! I finished Rock Band Drums on Hard. Since I had never played Easy or Medium, I got the achievements for all three levels, totaling 90 achievement points.
I got the Gold drum set now!
Then, kicked back for the next 30 minutes and watched the credits role. Ahhh, sweet success. But the journey isn’t over (as the credits will tell you). Now, I’m off to complete Drums on Expert and Vocals on Expert. I love this game!

We’re All Wasted!

Well, well, well…. “we won’t get fooled again”. I am going to be very poor (aka low on Microsoft Points) come next Tuesday. Just announced unofficially, 12, yes count them twelve songs from The Who are slated for next Tuesdays DLC. This is some freakin’ awesome news for real rock fans. NOTE: The Who is not one of my favorite bands.Note aside, The Who is one of the best all time bands (not in my opinion, it’s just fact). Take a look at some of the songs on the planned 12 track set list. Even if you are not a big fan of The Who, you too will realize just from the names of many of these songs. Who Are You, Baba O’Reilly, Behind Blue Eyes, My Generation. I will probably get 6 or so tracks once they are released….and yes, within the next couple weeks a Tuesday Night Classic Rock Jam will be coming up.
Rock on!

Free Rock Band DLC Available Now!
Posted on July 1st, 2008 No comments
Get your free copy of Promised Land by Vesuvius now at Xbox Live. Although I have never heard of the band or song, I am all about cheapfree songs for Rock Band. Hey, thanks to the cheap stuff, I am now a fan of local Boston band Bang Camaro. I got the 99 cent copy of Rock Rebellion from them a few weeks back, have to say, I like it.Now, back to Vesuvius. It’s free. (Here comes a ‘but’ sandwich). But, so was I’m Still Alive by GLaDOS (which was an abomination and I wish it didn’t show up on random World Tour sets….but hey, it was free after all. Now, I did a Wiki search on Vesuvius and now I’m very intrigued. It’s a spoof on an 80′s hair band (i.e. Spinal Tap). It’s taken from an up and coming movie, The Rocker with Rainn Wilson (You know, Dwight from The Office). Ok, that said….I’m sold. I’ll cough up the
99 centsnothing and pick up Vesuvius tonight.I suggest you pony up the time to get Promised Land by Vesuvius tonight. We will add it to next weeks setlist, and dare I say we do a Hair Band jam next week.
