It kills me to say this, but I will be honest. I am stuck! There are two songs remaining for me to finish on drums hard…Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden and We Won’t Get Fooled Again by The Who.Up until now, I’ve been able to finish every song with little to no practice (Next to You by The Police and Foreplay/Long Time by Boston got me in practice mode). So, yes, I am tooting my own horn….I’ve got the drums of Rock Band down pretty well. But c’mon……Iron Maiden and The Who are ruining me! I’ve actually spent a few minutes practicing Iron Maiden and still struggle.
To make it worse, Run to the Hills changes the hi-hat/snare layout, they are on different pads. I’m sure its to compensate for the 1/16 hi-hat notes, but my brain is programmed the other way thanks to 66+ other songs.
I really just want to beat this thing and get my accomplishment, but NO! I’m going to have to spend my time learning these two songs. Anyway, that’s my vent for the day.
I got so frustrated that I started over on drums expert, to prove to myself that I don’t suck at this game.
Do you know anyone that has beaten these two on drums hard?

I had the same problem for a while because the kit isn’t responsive enough for the fast notes in RTTH
so what i did was what people call the “sock mod” where you take a long sock and wrap it around the drum head, and then rubber band it in place with 2 strong rubber bands. This makes the drum more sensitive, makes it quieter, and provides a little bit more bounce, which makes it easier to play faster.

Thanks Matt. I haven’t tried modding my RB kit at all yet. Maybe I’ll give that a try.
I decided for the long term to go the VERY expensive route and purchased a Roland electronic kit and modding it to work with Rock Band. I’ve got the kit, now need to mod it. But, in the meantime…I may just “sock mod” my RB kit to see how it works.
