How much storage on your Treo

    Filed under: Gadget; Tagged as:

In recent stories, Treo hackers have figured out ways to increase the capacity of the SD card slot. The default is 2GB max. Hackers have figured out how to increase this to 4GB and above. They have also figured out how to add support for High-Capacity SD (SDHC) cards. SDHC cards are the same size as SD cards, but have much greater storage capacities. Read the links below for details. This supposedly works on the Treo 650, 680, and 700p.

No such luck for the Windows Mobile Treos. Those users are stuck with the 2GB max.

So far, I have added the FAT32.prc to my Treo 650′s ROM. That should allow 4GB SD cards to work. I ordered a card through Buy.com. Neither my Treo nor my Sony laptop recognized the card. I’ve sent it back to the manufacturer for testing and/or replacement. It’s been almost two weeks and no update. Not too happy.

    Check back for an update.
